OUR MISSION
Sustained by our heritage, the Jewish Community Foundation strives to create a permanent legacy for a strong, vibrant, enduring Jewish community locally and abroad.
For more than 40 years, the Jewish Community Foundation has been helping people support the Jewish and secular causes that are important to them. We provide resources to make the community's vision a reality and we respond to emergencies facing the Jewish people. The Jewish Community Foundation is the largest resource for Jewish philanthropy in the Greater Phoenix area. We have earned the trust of our donors and the community of professional advisors - attorneys, estate planners, trust officers, insurance professionals, accountants and financial advisors - who work with us to help donors achieve their charitable and financial goals.

Be strong, be strong, and let us strengthen each other
Our Jewish tradition directs us to recite these words at the conclusion of the reading of each of the five books of the Torah. These words help us transition from one book of the bible to another with the positive encouragement that we should be strong and strengthen each other. The desire to contribute to communal strength has been at the core of the mission of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Phoenix since its founding more than 40 years ago… to strengthen our Jewish community locally, nationally and internationally through thoughtful and meaningful Tzedakah.
Our chief role is to serve as the region’s center for long-term philanthropy. The Foundation has a distinguished record of excellence as a grant making Foundation and as the steward of the community’s philanthropic and endowment funds. We are also proud of our role as teacher and mentor to our community’s young people who are learning to be responsible donors and future philanthropists through our B’nai Tzedek Youth Philanthropy Program. And we take great satisfaction in our ability to provide important advice and counsel to donors who seek our help as they create their charitable legacy plans which will support the needs of the community for generations to come.
Whether we’re managing philanthropic assets, providing grants to Jewish communal organizations from our permanent endowment funds or donor advised funds, teaching young people the joys of giving, or helping to strengthen the region’s Jewish communal organizations, agencies and synagogues, everything we do and every resource we have is devoted to improving the quality of Jewish life in our community.
More than 40 years ago, a thoughtful and committed group of community leaders had the foresight to understand that the Jewish Community Foundation was ideally suited to help strengthen our community through meaningful endowment building. That same vision is what continues to guide the Foundation today and will in the future.
I invite you to explore the many ways that the Jewish Community can assist your family in creating a meaningful charitable gift plan that will enable the causes and organizations you value and hold dear to be supported during your lifetime and for generations to come.
