MISSION

The B’nai Tzedek Youth Philanthropy Program is redefining what it means to be a Jewish philanthropist by showing young people that they have the power to make change in the world through a personal and engaged relationship to lifelong giving. This program is a tool for teens to give tzedakah, deepen their commitment to social action and be part of a program that models youth leadership.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

? To help every Jewish teen in the community establish a charitable endowment fund in their name

? To empower Jewish teens to change the world through Jewish philanthropy, tzedakah and tikkun olam

? To provide Jewish teens with skills and knowledge in the area of Jewish sources on giving, financial literacy and modern philanthropy

? To help Jewish teens establish relationships with Jewish organizations in our community and abroad

? To offer the opportunity to network with other Jewish teens locally and nationally

PARTICIPATION

Any Phoenix area, Jewish teen, from approaching Bar/Bat Mitzvah through Senior Year of High School, can establish a B’nai Tzedek Fund.

YOU are why the program exists. Did you know that your generation is destined to become the single largest teen population in US history – projected to be 34 million by the year 2010? Can you comprehend the measure of influence you and your classmates will demand?

YOU are the Y Generation.

Your generation shares many unique attributes, like asking the right questions and treasuring your uniqueness and individuality.

Your agenda is yours to make and your age group is known to be value-oriented in thought and in spending.

You are not a group of slackers and cynics. You are mature, edgy, optimistic, smart and responsible.

You know what you want and perhaps more importantly, you know WHY you want it…with good intentions and a global view playing a role in decisions.
