LOOKING FOR A MITZVAH PROJECT?
If you are in need of a Mitzvah Project and don't know where to start, look to our B'nai Tzedek staff for help. Andrea Cohen, the Foundation’s Director of Youth Philanthropy, is happy to meet with you and your parents to help you design a project that you will find both enjoyable and meaningful.
There are opportunities to help all around us...we are happy to help you find the right one for you!
LOOKING TO DO COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS?
Community organizations are always in need of volunteers. You don’t have to travel far from home to find great organizations that could really use your help. Here is just a sampling:
HOMEWORK HELP: Neighbor Elementary Schools -- All schools offer after-school programs for students with working parents. Call your local school and ask them if you can come and help kids with homework or be a reading buddy.
HELPING ANIMALS -- There are so many senior citizens who have pets that they love but are unable to exercise. Call a local senior/retirement residence near your home and ask them if there are residents who would like their dogs walked, brushed or played with.
OFFICE WORK -- Call your temple and ask them if they are in need of someone to help them put together mailings, file, etc.
DO YOU NEED OTHER TEENS TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR PROJECT?
DOES YOUR ORGANIZATION NEED ONGOING VOLUNTEER SUPPORT OR VOLUNTEERS FOR A ONE-TIME EVENT?
