bull LOOKING TO DO COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS?

Community organizations are always in need of volunteers. You don’t have to travel far from home to find great organizations that could really use your help. Here is just a sampling:

HOMEWORK HELP: Neighbor Elementary Schools -- All schools offer after-school programs for students with working parents. Call your local school and ask them if you can come and help kids with homework or be a reading buddy.

SPORTS: VOSJCC -- The JCC is always looking for help with both the after-school program and their youth sports teams. To be a homework helper, reading buddy, or sports teacher contact Deborah Sheinbein or Mitch Cohen at (480) 483-7121 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. To help with the youth sports program as an assistant coach, contact the sports department at the JCC at (480) 483-7121.

HELPING ANIMALS -- There are so many senior citizens who have pets that they love but are unable to exercise. Call a local senior/retirement residence near your home and ask them if there are residents who would like their dogs walked, brushed or played with.

OFFICE WORK -- Call your temple and ask them if they are in need of someone to help them put together mailings, file, etc.
