Who Can Benefit

from Your Legacy Gift

All Israel is responsible one for another -Kol Yisrael arevim zeh bazeh

By making a legacy gift with the Jewish Community Foundation, you can provide support forever for the organizations, agencies, synagogues, and causes that are most important to you. Our donors support hundreds of grant recipients.

They support the elderly and those with special needs, families in crisis and children who are the future of the Jewish people. They support education, camps, respite care and Israel experiences. They support synagogues and organizations that strengthen our community and build for the future.

Who will you support? The choice is yours. You can be there forever. We are here to help you.

There are several fund options for your legacy gift. They are:

Endowment Book of Life

These funds allow you to take advantage of tax benefits and manage your charitable contributions throughout the year. Read more about Endowment Book of Life.

Fund for Jewish Philanthropy

These unrestricted funds provide a flexible resource

  • for innovative programs in the community
  • to respond to emergency needs

The Foundation's Grants Committee makes annual distributions from the Fund for Jewish Philanthropy in your name, or the name of someone you wish to honor.

Designated and Field of Interest Funds

Designated funds allow you to create a special purpose fund to benefit a specific charity, agency, synagogue, program, or field of interest (e.g., Jewish education or services for the elderly). You may also establish a fund that is partially designated, specifying an amount for one or more specific purposes and allow the balance to benefit the Fund for Jewish Philanthropy. Many agencies and synagogues have funds with the Jewish Community Foundation and you may direct your gift to any of those funds.

Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment (PACE)

A PACE gift allows you to continue your Jewish Federation/UJC campaign gift in perpetuity after your lifetime. Income from your fund will be donated each year to the Annual Campaign in your own name, that of your family, or anyone you designate.

The Harold and Jean Grossman Society is a PACE recognition program for donors who create endowments, now or in their estate planning, of $100,000 or more to the Jewish Community Foundation to establish a Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment or a Lion of Judah Endowment.

There are five levels of recognition in the Grossman Society:

  • $100,000 - Builders of our Community
  • $200,000 - Protectors of our Tradition
  • $500,000 - Sustainers of our Legacy
  • $1,000,000 - Guardians of our Heritage
  • $2,000,000 - Benefactors of our Future

Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE)
A Lion of Judah Endowment guarantees that a woman's Lion of Judah gift of $5,000 or more to the Federation/UJC Annual Campaign will be made each year in her name in perpetuity. These women proudly wear the Lion of Judah pin affixed with a special flame known as the "Or L'Atid" or "light unto the future." This eternal flame is never extinguished, lighting the way for future generations of strong, vibrant women.

Jewish Women's Endowment Fund

The Jewish Women's Endowment Fund was established in 1998 to benefit Jewish women and girls locally, nationally and internationally. The Jewish Women's Endowment Fund is a catalyst for social change, funding projects to expand and improve opportunities and choices in all aspects of Jewish women's and girls' lives from girls at risk to the elderly to victims of domestic violence. Often, the Jewish Women's Endowment Fund is the only resource for these programs. Click here to see a list of recent grant recipients. You may contribute to this fund in your own name or in the name of a special woman in your life.

If you would like additional information on any of these endowment funds, including a free confidential consultation, please contact the Jewish Community Foundation at info@jcfphoenix.org or call (480) 699-1717.
