What We Do

CJP is a resource that connects and serves the Greater Phoenix Jewish Community. We are a hub of information on all things Jewish, from holiday celebrations to synagogue activities to Jewish Life & Identity. We provide the tools necessary for people to find meaning and inspiration in our connections with Judaism and each other.

We are strengthening Jewish identity and Jewish community locally and globally.

There’s no one way to lead a Jewish life or participate in our diverse Jewish community. That’s why CJP offers many opportunities to find the path that matches your interests and needs. No matter where your passions lie or where you are on your own Jewish journey, YOU can make an impact through the Center for Jewish Philanthropy.

We want to engage with you on all levels to develop relationships into meaningful connections and collaborative partnerships that ultimately benefit our community at large.

By working together, we can create real change and growth, fuel innovation and be a voice on behalf of the people, causes and organizations we all care about.

Shalom, Phoenix!

New to Phoenix? Welcome home!

Whether you moved here a month ago, a year ago, or are thinking about moving to this beautiful area, we are happy you would like to connect to Jewish Phoenix.

Teen Opportunities

Whether you’re interested in leadership development, volunteering, Israel advocacy, or philanthropy there is a program for you. The CJP wants to help connect Jewish teens to meaningful experiences, new friendships, and exciting ways to make a difference in the community.

B'Nai Tzedek

Our B’nai Tzedek Youth Philanthropy Program sets teens up for a lifetime of philanthropy.

Youth Philanthropy Board

The Youth Philanthropy Board engages teens as strategic philanthropists, granting $10,000 annually.

Camp Funding

There are needs-based Camp Scholarships for children in grades K-12 to attend Jewish overnight and day camp experiences.

Teen Israel Incentive Grants

The Grossman Teen Israel Experience Grants provide incentive funding for 15–18-year-old teens to experience Israel with other teens.

Organization Funding

Why should I give to CJP Phoenix instead of a specific organization?

The CJP’s Annual Campaign strengthens the community by raising dollars for our partner agencies to run programs to meet critical needs. We can continue to provide the programs you’ve come to love, fortify the agencies and institutions upon which we depend, and strengthen our community.

The Annual Campaign allows us to mobilize in times of joy, and in times of crisis, and ensures a thriving Jewish community and Jewish life – here in Phoenix, in Israel, and around the world.

Community Impact

The CJP awards a combination of general operating support and program grants to meet the needs of our Jewish community.

Small Grants

Small grants support new programs or events, urgent or time-sensitive needs or opportunities, requests that capitalize on a time-limited opportunity, or local capacity-building projects.

Donor Advised Fund Grants

The grants, totaling several million dollars and awarded to hundreds of organizations, support myriad causes in both the Jewish and secular communities locally, nationally, and around the world.

International

We work to protect and enhance the well-being of Jews worldwide through the values of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), Tzedakah (charity and social justice), and Torah. Your support of the Center for Jewish Philanthropy sustains Jewish life and supports lifesaving humanitarian work through our global partners.

Israel

Through The Jewish Federations of North America, and our partners on the ground, we work to ensure that every Jew who wants to live in Israel can, funding programs that help provide equal access to economic and educational opportunities and supporting initiatives that encourage religious diversity and social equality.

Global Jewry

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and World ORT are supported through The Jewish Federations of North America. These organizations are our boots on the ground and play an important ongoing role in providing an array of life-sustaining services to needy elderly and vulnerable Jews while supporting the revitalization of Jewish life, especially in communities in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union that were decimated by the Holocaust and driven underground by Communism. These partners fund camps, community centers, and educational and leadership development programs that support a renaissance of global Jewish life.

Discover the power of community connection!

I’m passionate about bringing people together through engaging events and activities. If you share this passion and want to get involved, please reach out to me. I’d love to hear from you and tell you more about what we’re doing in the Phoenix community.
